The Pyramid of Tatarevo

The Pyramid Tatarevo is surrounded by multiple megalithic sites. The pyramid and surrounding megalithic sites are heavily eroded. One hill that faces the pyramid has huge lines of rock formations.

The megalithic sites of the Rhodope

The pyramid of Tatarevo is located in the Eastern Rhodope.

The neighbouring sites

The pyramid of Tatarevo is surrounded by several megalithic sites on the surrounding hills. There is also a high density of megalithic sites in the Eastern Rhodope region. Many of these sites have not yet been visited and added to the inventory. Some are already inventorised:

The lines of megaliths are aligned North-East to South-West.

The size of stones

The lines of megaliths are 10 metres high and over 100 metres long.

Periods of construction

Due to the heavy erosion patterns it is difficult to date the site. But the pyramid and the lines of megaliths by their size probably point to the Lemurian epoch.
